The South Zone Semi Finals of Streax Professional Times India Hair Style Icon 2023 were held at The Sheraton at Brigade Gateway, Bengaluru on July 30. From the entries that came from the states of Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerela and Tamil Nadu; top 50 hairstylists were selected to find out the 3 zonal finalists that will perform at the grand finale in October.
Contestants were bifurcated into two different time slots and asked to select a category from commercial cut & colour (male / female) and creative colour (female). Accordingly, each semi-finalist was asked to perform within the respective timeline and process parameters.
Each hairstylist was accompanied by a muse, who was judged by an eclectic panel of jury comprising celebrity stylist Vipul Chudasama (artistic brand ambassador, Streax Professional), actors Pranitha Manohar Subhash, Kavya Shetty and fashion veteran Prasad Bidapa; along with technical judges from Streax Professional.
Winners
After 12 hours of performances and a gruelling post event evaluation; the winners were announced.
Mahboob Ali (Goodluck Hair Salon – Bengaluru, Vinod Govindbaksh (Oms Beauty Salon, Hyderabad), Farheed Ahmad (Lee Unisex Salon, Bengaluru Rural) were declared the finalists in their respective categories. They will now perform with the other zonal finalists for the finals at Bombay Times Fashion Week in Mumbai on October 29. Each finalist won a cash prize of Rs.75,000/- and now stand to win Rs.5,00,000/- worth cash, a trip to visit the OMC Awards in Paris an annual contract with Streax Professional and other prizes.
Keshav Kumar (Bengaluru) Taj Mohammad (Hyderabad), Sanjeev Limbu (Bengaluru), made it to the zonal runners up, each winning a cash prize of Rs.40,000/-

The competition now moves to Kolkata for the East & North-East leg of semi-finals on August 22. Hairstylists from these zones still have a chance to participate.
